Alma’s is pleased to host Regarding MCM, a group exhibition featuring contemporary artists whose work is influenced by mid-century modern design (MCM). This is not reproductions from this powerhouse era, rather you will find an appreciative nod to work that celebrated love of material, clean, organic lines and whimsy.

This all craft material show focuses on contemporary works that represent and embody the ideals found in MCM design. Decorative and functional pieces of furniture, fiber, jewelry, and glass come together forming an eclectic, technicolored wonderland. Color is a big part of this exhibition, with a Jetson’s-like optimistic color palette this super saturated show will be able to brighten most days.

Evident in this exhibition is the power of a well designed piece. The range of artists and media prove the inspiration that can be found in good design.

Please join us from 5-8pm this Friday, May 23 for the opening reception of our first design focused exhibition!
