Sophia Douris Mug

Douris is a collection of decorative and functional ceramic art.  Each piece is handmade using various methods of hand building, wheel throwing and slip casting.  Sophia Douris studied drawing at the New York Studio School and painting and printmaking at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.  She is mostly curious about how colors can act as portals depending on form and space.  She is interested in the fine lines between beauty and ugliness.  She is constantly exploring the mystery of the mundane and the surprises they contain .
