Grey Von Cannon : Interwoven earrings

Grey Von Cannon is a multimedia artist based in Charlottesville, VA. Having earned a BFA in Metalsmithing and Painting from Appalachian State University, Grey works to combine her love of both mediums in her daily practice. Her paintings are full of color, texture and emotion. Drawing inspiration from her abstract figure paintings, Grey makes bright, sculptural forms that engage with the body intimately. She forms copper foil around steel wire with her hands, allowing the material to guide her. She then coats copper foil with enamel which fuse together to create captivating textures and colors. 

About Ear Candy: 

Alma's is thrilled to host our 3rd annual invitational earring exhibition. Ear Candy 2026 features work from 86 local, national and internationally recognized artists. This annual event showcases earrings made by applauded, established jewelers alongside experimental, non-traditional and emerging talent. Ear Candy is a playful and accessible way to interact with and collect art jewelry, support locally made and one of a kind work all at once.

Always a priority, Alma’s seeks opportunity to spotlight those who make Richmond uniquely special. In line with this goal, Ear Candy presents the work of 30 different Richmond artists.
