CJ Burke is an interdisciplinary artist based in Richmond, Virginia, primarily working in ceramics and soft sculpture. He received his Bachelors of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University in May of 2026. As a sculptor, Burke explores a relationship between queerness, the body, and self perception, utilizing color, pattern, and imagery gathered from post-ironic corners of the internet. His work exists within both soft and hard sculpture contexts, utilizing found fabrics and synthetics in a textile context, as well as ceramic hand-building techniques, and traditional language of the vessel.
