We are thrilled to offer this happy cup made by Tracy Shell.
Part of a larger collection available during Alma's 1st ever Cup Show! This large group exhibition features artists at all points of their career from near and far. It is a celebration of the utilitarian vessel that brings drink to our mouths. Whether you choose a goblet, cup, mug, stein, short, tall, ceramic, glass or metal, we hope you will enjoy in good health and happiness.
Despite their fragile appearance, these cast porcelain tumblers are dishwasher safe and quite durable. Made in Richmond, VA by Tracy Shell for her porcelain line called Clementine Porcelain.
Tracy Shell received her Masters of Fine Arts Degree from The School for American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York state, and Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Montevallo in Alabama. She also apprenticed with Echizen potter, Juroemon Fujita, in Japan for three years.
Most recently, Tracy held the position of Professor of art and art history and art department chair at Midland University in Fremont, NE. Ms. Shell and her family have recently moved to the Richmond area to be close to family. She is currently a studio potter at Shockoe Bottom Clay and an adjunct professor at VCU.
Every handmade piece at Alma’s is a story of its craft.
